KBC’s published delivery model is a part-time, 18-month structure across six modules, with live Saturday teaching. Confirm the current timetable, independent study expectation and assignment schedule with the team.
The diploma comprises four mandatory units and two selected optional units. KBC’s selected options are Strategic Financial Management and Strategic Marketing. Each unit carries 20 credits, with 100 guided learning hours and 200 total qualification hours; the full diploma is 120 credits, 600 GLH and 1,200 TQT. The diploma uses assignment-based assessment. Your enrolment offer confirms the awarding-body requirements, unit structure, support and submission schedule. Any later university top-up has a separate application and assessment process.
Understand your route.
The diploma and an MBA are distinct awards. Eligible diploma holders may apply for a separate university MBA top-up, subject to the university’s entry criteria, required units, currency of qualifications, assessment and fees. Admission is not automatic.

An organisation wants growth, but its proposed direction strains cash, workforce capability and customer focus. Each function has a plausible plan of its own. Your challenge is to connect those plans, test the assumptions and recommend a coherent direction that people can deliver and stakeholders can scrutinise.
01Strategic Management
Develop a view of the organisation’s position and assess alternative directions. The proposed KBC activities connect diagnosis with choices, resources, implementation and review. You practise explaining why a strategy fits the organisation and what would need to change for it to work, including the assumptions that deserve continued management attention.
Apply it at work: Produce a strategy recommendation and implementation roadmap.
02Strategic Leadership
Examine how leadership approaches influence people, teams and organisational effectiveness. The proposed activities use cases and reflection to connect theory with strategic responsibilities. You consider how context changes the leadership response, work through a difficult ethical choice and identify an improvement in practice that can be tested through evidence and feedback.
Apply it at work: Develop a leadership evaluation and a focused development commitment.
03Strategic Human Resource Management
Translate organisational priorities into workforce requirements and a coherent people plan. The proposed activities connect capability, capacity, policy and implementation. You examine how HR decisions interact with other functions, consider their consequences for employees and plan how managers can contribute to delivery. Evaluation keeps attention on outcomes as well as activity.
Apply it at work: Create a workforce strategy with implementation and review arrangements.
04Advanced Business Research Methods
Turn a management concern into a focused research proposal. The proposed activities connect a critical literature review with methodological decisions, access, sampling and analysis. You justify what the study could contribute and make its practical and ethical limits explicit. This work prepares a research design; it does not constitute a completed dissertation.
Apply it at work: Develop an integrated proposal for an achievable business investigation.
05Strategic Financial Management
Assess whether a strategic proposal makes financial sense and whether the organisation can support it. The proposed activities connect performance analysis, budgets, funding and investment appraisal. You practise explaining calculations, testing assumptions and comparing alternatives, so the final recommendation shows both numerical competence and judgement about context, uncertainty and cash requirements.
Apply it at work: Prepare an investment and funding recommendation with transparent calculations.
06Strategic Marketing
Choose customers, define value and align the marketing mix with organisational priorities. The proposed activities connect market analysis with objectives, positioning and brand evaluation. You explain why a chosen audience deserves attention and how the organisation can keep its customer promise. The resulting plan makes the strategic choices behind marketing activity visible.
Apply it at work: Create a coherent market strategy and brand evaluation.
Assessment and eligibility
The OTHM diploma is assessed through coursework and uses pass/fail grading. The centre assesses submissions and OTHM externally verifies them. Learners must satisfy every required unit criterion; attendance alone does not establish achievement. KBC’s proposed workshops develop evidence, analysis and application before submission. The issued assignment briefs govern the final tasks. Recommended books support learning, while the current qualification specification defines the award’s requirements.
