A SHARED COMMITMENT

Make learning work in practice.

As an employer or line manager

  • Agree a suitable role, meaningful workplace opportunities and a named manager or mentor.
  • Protect the learning time in the agreed plan. For apprentices, eligible off-the-job training takes place during paid working time.
  • Provide safe access to the people, tools and evidence needed, with clear confidentiality boundaries.
  • Join scheduled progress reviews, recognise progress and help resolve barriers early.
  • Tell KBC promptly about changes in employment, duties, working hours, learning time or the support needed.
  • Support authentic assessment evidence. Give feedback without writing or completing assessed work for the learner.

Our commitment at KBC

  • Review the role, goals and prior learning so the programme meets the learner's development needs.
  • Explain delivery, study commitments, assessment and the costs or support included in the written offer.
  • Provide teaching, coaching and feedback, with clear contacts for questions and concerns.
  • Agree a training or study plan, review progress and work with you on proportionate actions.
  • Discuss reasonable support and adjustments, protecting private learner information.
  • Use learner and employer feedback to improve provision and explain how to raise a complaint.

This public charter is a preparation and reference guide. It complements the programme offer and signed agreements. Reading or downloading it does not sign an agreement, approve funding or confirm enrolment.

APPRENTICESHIP PARTNERSHIP

Agree the detail before learning begins.

Time, funding and a suitable role

Agree protected paid learning time, the workplace activities and who will support them. KBC checks the applicable apprenticeship standard, start-date funding rules and evidenced prior learning before confirming the individual training plan.

Required off-the-job training hours vary by the applicable standard and rules; a blanket 20% figure does not determine every new starter's plan. Routine duties and existing knowledge do not automatically count as new training.

The employer confirms the funding arrangements and any contribution in the written agreement. A public guide or funding illustration does not establish eligibility.

Reviews and assessment readiness

Agree the review schedule and attend with the learner and coach. Discuss learning, workplace application, attendance, support, evidence and the next actions. Review sooner when circumstances change.

KBC's learner charter describes monthly coaching and ten-week progress reviews. The individual plan records the applicable arrangements and current requirements.

Prepare for the assessment requirements that apply to the learner's standard and start date. Apprenticeship assessment, professional examinations and chartership have separate requirements.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING WITHIN AN APPRENTICESHIP

One agreed apprenticeship pathway.

PMP preparation and Certified PMO Professional learning may form part of the agreed Associate Project Manager or Project Controls Professional pathway, where appropriate. They do not create a separate government-funded apprenticeship or a separate employer charter. Your programme offer confirms which modules, examinations and recognition are included.

Any additional Level 7 leadership study follows its own KBC-funded offer and entry requirements. It is not a standalone government-funded apprenticeship. Use the employer charter for the apprentice's main programme.

SUPPORT, SAFETY & FEEDBACK

Keep the conversation open.

Remove barriers early

Ask what helps the learner participate and apply their learning. Discuss accessible materials, equipment, working patterns and assessment preparation with KBC. A diagnosis is not needed to start a support conversation.

Share only the information needed to agree practical support. Private wellbeing or learning-support disclosures should not be circulated as routine performance information.

Raise concerns and improve the experience

Use the current safeguarding and Prevent contacts for concerns about safety, bullying, harassment, exploitation or radicalisation. In immediate danger, call 999.

Raise delivery concerns with the tutor or coach. For unresolved concerns, the complaints policy explains the process and response times. Give employer feedback on what is working and where the programme could improve.
