Procurement Risk & Contract Management
The Procurement Risk and Contract Management module develops an advanced understanding of procurement processes, contractual frameworks, and their associated risks. While the APMG Risk Management Level 1 and 2 qualifications provide broad principles and practical frameworks for managing risks across projects and programmes, this unit applies those principles specifically to the procurement and contractual context. Learners will critically evaluate the operating environment, legislation, and category management practices, while exploring how procurement risks – such as supplier reliability, e-tendering vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and sustainability requirements – can be identified, assessed, and mitigated. The emphasis is not only on operational efficiency but also on strategic resilience, making this module relevant for both operational pathway professionals (Project Procurement Officers, Project Controllers, Project Contract Managers) and strategic pathway leaders (Heads of Procurement, Commercial Directors, Senior PMO leaders)
